Huawei P40 Lite 5G is the latest smartphone that will join the Huawei P40 family like the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, P40 Pro Plus, and the P40 Lite. As the name suggests its major selling point is 5G. However, you also get a brilliant 6.5-inch display and four rear cameras.

This literally means the P40 Lite now has a 5G version. The phone was officially announced in Europe and it’s the rebranded version of the Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G.

Design and Display

Just as mentioned above, this is the same as the Nova 7 SE 5G. In other words, it packs a premium plastic body with front glass. It has a smooth panel housing the cameras and the LED flash while the fingerprint scanner side mounted.

It measures 162.3 x 75 x 8.6 mm in dimensions and weight 189 grams. The Huawei P40 Lite is blessed with a 6.5-inch LTPS IPS LCD panel that has a round-shaped cutout at the top-left corner for the front camera.

The screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a tall 20:9 ratio, and 405 PPI density for a nice viewing experience. It also comes with HDR support, display protection and it reaches 83.8% screen-to-body ratio.

Camera

On the camera department, the P40 Lite 5G packs a quad cameras set-up featuring 64-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide shooter, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth helper.

The round shape on the screen is hosting a 16 MP for selfies and video calling. The primary camera is paired with an LED flash for brighter photos even in low dim light location. It also features Panorama, HDR and can shoot 4K video quality.

Hardware and Software

The Huawei P40 Lite 5G is driven by a Kirin 820 5G chipset based on 7nm process technology. The octa-core processor is clocking at a speed of 2.36 GHz for the Cortex-A76, another Cortex-A76 clocking at 2.22 GHz, while the last Cortex-A55 is running at 1.84 GHz.

There is Mali-G57 (6-core) graphic. The smartphone is booted by the Android 10 operating system with EMUI 10.1 mounted on top. The onboard storage is 128GB paired with 6GB RAM and it’s expandable via Nano card up to 256GB.

Battery and Network

The Huawei P40 Lite 5G has a nonremovable battery of 4000 mAh with fast charging 40W that promises to refill the device to 70% in 30 minutes. It also has reverse charging 5W. This means you can power other devices with the phone.

Apart from the regular 4G and the new 5G, the P40 Lite 5G also features WiFi, A-GPS, NFC for mobile payment and 2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector for charging and file transfer.

Huawei P40 Lite 5G Price and Availability

The Huawei P40 Lite 5G is now available at a price of 399 euros in Europe. It will ship in multiple colors such as Crush Green, Space Silver, and Midnight Black.

In Nigeria, the Huawei P40 Lite 5G is expected to sell at a price of 175,000 Naira, 2,600 Ghs in Ghana, and 49,000 Naira in Kenya.
